What crown molding adds to a room
Crown molding sits where the wall meets the ceiling and gives a room a finished, higher-end look. It works well in living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and entries. It also finishes off kitchen cabinets that run close to the ceiling, tying the cabinetry into the room.
Sizing it to your ceilings
Crown has to suit the room. If it is too small, it disappears, and if it is too large, it feels heavy. Standard eight-foot ceilings usually call for a more modest profile, while taller ceilings can carry larger or layered crown. We look at the height of your ceilings and the style of your home before recommending a profile.
Fitting it to real walls
Few walls and ceilings are perfectly straight. Getting crown to fit tight takes careful measuring, clean coped corners and patience. Painted crown usually gets a final coat after installation, so we plan trim and painting together. The goal is molding that looks like it was always part of your house.
