Condo Remodeling in St. Petersburg & Clearwater: What to Know First
Association rules, flooring requirements and logistics to sort out before you start.

Read your association rules first
Most condo associations have rules on work hours, noise, elevator use, parking and debris. Many also ask for contractor paperwork before anyone starts. Get a copy of the rules before you plan the job, because they can shape your schedule.
Check flooring requirements
Many condos require a sound underlayment under hard flooring, so your downstairs neighbor does not hear every step. Ask what rating is required before you buy LVP, engineered wood or tile.
Plan the logistics
Everything comes and goes by elevator, so large cabinets, countertops and tile need to fit. Measure the elevator and hallways early, and plan where materials will be stored.
Choose finishes for the coast
In a beachfront condo, salt air and humidity are hard on finishes. Porcelain tile, quality cabinet finishes and flooring made for moisture are smart choices.
Know what you can change
Shared walls, floors and building systems often belong to the association. Find out what is yours to change before you commit to a new layout. We do not do plumbing or electrical work, so any changes there need a licensed plumber or electrician.
